What Is a Cult?
The word "cult" gets used loosely. When we use it, we mean something specific: a high-control religious group that uses deception, undue influence, and authoritarian leadership to control the lives of its members.

Deception
These groups present themselves as the only true church while concealing their true nature from outsiders and new members.
Fear & Guilt
Fear and guilt are the primary tools used to keep people from questioning leadership or leaving the group.
Undue Influence
Members are required to give absolute loyalty to a single leader's interpretation of Scripture, leaving no room for honest questions.

We built the community we didn't have.
Chris Iff, our co-founder and lead intervention specialist, is a former Shincheonji member who actively recruited three people out of a church before he left. When he finally left, he reached out to churches in Seattle for help and was turned away. That experience is what built Bible Vaccine Center.

Co-Founder & Theological Lead
Co-Founder & Cult Intervention Specialist
Bible Vaccine Center US was co-founded by Chris Iff and John Pyon. Chris brings lived experience inside Shincheonji and years of frontline intervention work. John brings theological training, a bicultural Korean-American perspective, and a heart for equipping the local church. Together, they built Bible Vaccine Center US to fill a gap: a place where families, survivors, churches, and researchers could find expert, human, biblically grounded support.
Our vision is to cultivate holy resistance against deceptive teaching by building healthy churches — through research, education, prevention, counseling training, and a commitment to the next generation.
Bible Vaccine Center US is a Christian ministry. We hold to historic, orthodox Christian faith. We welcome everyone who needs help, regardless of where they are in their faith journey.
