ABOUT BIBLE VACCINE CENTER

We exist because someone should have been there.

Who We Are

Protecting the Church with the right truth

"And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Bible Vaccine Center exists in this era of confusion — where false doctrines distort the truth and mislead believers — to protect the Church (the Body of Christ) and its members with the right truth. In practical terms, that means helping individuals and families find their way out of high-control religious groups, and helping the Church become equipped to recognize and resist them.

Cults thrive on isolation. They cut people off from family, community, and outside information. Many survivors leave and find themselves without support. Many families reach out to their churches and are turned away. Bible Vaccine Center exists to be the place that does not turn you away.

Built from the experience of being turned away.

Chris Iff, co-founder and lead intervention specialist at Bible Vaccine Center US, was a former member and active recruiter for Shincheonji — one of the largest high-control groups operating in the United States today. When he finally left, he did what most people do: he went to his church for help. Then another church. Then another. Every door was closed.

Chris Iff

That experience did not just wound him. It became the engine for everything that followed. Chris spent years building awareness, developing expertise, and helping hundreds of people leave high-control groups — eventually close to 1,000 Shincheonji members. The work that started as personal survival became a calling.

John Pyon, Bible Vaccine Center US’s other co-founder, came to this work from a different angle but with the same urgency. As an English Ministry Leader and M.Div. candidate specializing in Christian Apologetics,

John Pyon

John observed what he describes as a “campus crisis”. He partnered with Bible Vaccine Center Korea’s Pastor Yang to bring a rigorous, theologically grounded response to the English-speaking world.

Together, they launched Bible Vaccine Center US as the American chapter of Bible Vaccine Center International — combining Chris’s frontline intervention experience and John’s theological depth to fill a gap that existing organizations were not filling.

OUR FOUNDERS

John Pyon and Chriss Iff

Chris Iff

Chris was not a researcher who studied Shincheonji from the outside. He was inside and a recruiter. He personally recruited three people out of a church before eventually leaving the group. That firsthand knowledge of how these groups think, recruit, and hold members is what makes his intervention work different.

He is mentored by Dr. Steve Hassan, speaks at EMNR, and is a recurring team member on the Cultish Podcast. He has been featured in World Magazine and has helped close to 1,000 Shincheonji members leave the group.

John Pyon

Born in South Korea and raised in the United States, John brings a bicultural fluency that is rare in the English-language apologetics world. He is an M.Div. candidate at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, specializing in Christian Apologetics, and a certified Bible Vaccine Center counselor trained under Pastor Yang.

His motivation comes from what he calls a “campus crisis”: cults targeting college students who have sincere faith but lack the tools to spot a counterfeit gospel. He reviews all English content on this site for theological accuracy.
